Black Target Firearms and Supply hosts Military Appreciation Days over Memorial Day weekend

Times-Virginian - 6/1/2018

This weekend, Black Target Firearms and Supply held their Military Appreciation Days at their location at 6971Richmond Highway. Multiple military vehicles were on display on the front lawn for guests to admire, as well as the Appomattox American Legion 104's rebuilt WWI canon.

The store is owned and operated by Ron and Gloria Krauklis, both Army Veterans, who wanted to host this special event to remind other veterans that they are cared for.

As part of their Military Appreciation Days, Black Target Firearms and Supply also offered a Memorial Day sale to shoppers. They hosted their Concealed Weapons classes both days, and offered a free soft pistol case to the first 30 active or retired military members or first responders.

No Butts About It BBQ was on site and served their well-known barbecue and side dishes from their food truck as well.

The American Legion Post 104 offered their raffle tickets for sale. They are selling tickets in hopes to raise money to build a shelter for their recently rebuilt WWI canon, in order to keep it in pristine condition.

Overall, the Military Appreciation Days were a success.

"I think the community is awesome," Ron Krauklis said, "The turnout has been fantastic. We got to see a lot of veterans and a lot of young people who are enlisting. The young people were asking the veterans about different jobs in the service."

Krauklis added that he appreciates the response from the community, and is especially thankful for those who volunteered their time, vehicles, or services to make the event a success.
